How we revolutionized the detection of hail damage

Hail damage to vehicles poses a challenge for appraisers and insurance companies. Since the beginning of 2022, ALVISTO has been successfully used for automated hail damage detection in Germany and other European countries.

The evaluation of the detected damage takes a quarter of the time that a manual inspection by an assessor would take. In addition, the system provides accurate results: when scanning the same vehicle repeatedly, the deviation is less than five percent. This ensures reliable, fast, and efficient damage assessment.

 

50 percent time savings through AI-based DoE

Predicting material properties such as fatigue strength and endurance strength is essential for selecting suitable steels for specific applications. Corresponding experiments often require several weeks of testing and incur high costs.

Together with supplier Schaeffler, we have developed OptiwAIse for the material selection process. OptiwAIse uses specialized ML methods to predict fatigue strength from material and component properties while reducing the amount of experimentation required through AI-based Design of Experiments (DoE). 

The supplier was able to reduce their number of experiments by over 50 percent, leading to shorter development times and direct cost savings of €100,000.
