I am looking to work whilst doing my PhD
We consider learning to be an essential aspect of your work. If you are a scientist this might mean studying for a doctorate. At the Fraunhofer IAIS we feel that the research element of a doctorate should always be embedded in research projects which bring about credible benefits. The doctorate scheme is carried out in conjunction with the University of Bonn, and the PhD students work as research assistants and are employed by the IAIS.
As we do not offer any doctorate studies without employment, we would kindly ask you to apply for one of our job advertisements.
In your application please mention that you would like to do a doctorate with us. Please have a look at our job vacancies here.
Even if you have not found what you are looking for in our job adverts, you may still have the drive and desire to apply speculatively. You are welcome to do so but please bear in mind that speculative applications are very rarely successful.
If you want to apply speculatively, please select a specific department and then apply online. We cannot, unfortunately, consider any applications sent directly to a specific department or to our department for human resources development. Your application only has a realistic chance of being successful if it is explicitly elaborated. Please send all your exam results, every topic of every assignment you have completed, your academic reports and a covering letter detailing where exactly within our organisation you would like to be placed.
Please clearly indicate in your application which departments you are applying for speculatively. Please also reduce your application to as few departments as possible.
