Since 2002, we have been pursuing the goal of the Roberta initiative and the associated Open Roberta platform to inspire young people, but increasingly also adults, for science and technology and to make them responsible designers of their future. Our Open Roberta Lab is Europe's largest open source platform for visual programming of hardware systems and has users from over 100 countries!
Our software infrastructure runs entirely within a cloud infrastructure. We run relational databases, which run over a Jetty server, and deploy all applications over Docker. To support us, we are looking for a student employee for the DevOps area in the Media Engineering department.
Join us as Student Assistant - Java Development at Fraunhofer IAIS.
Your tasks include
- Assist in the Development of Microservices in JAVA
- Under guidance of our colleagues, implement REST-based webservices
- Gain experience with microservice monitoring, logging and maintenance.
What we expect from you
- You are a student at a German University in Computer Science or a comparable field of study
- Some experience with Java and willingness to learn
- You are interested in building microservices
- You can communicate in English. German is a plus
- If you have a experience building REST services in Java, it would be a plus
- You enjoy creating solutions to technical problems
- You are capable of independent work with the guidance of your colleagues
