With the JUPITER AI Factory, a central pillar of Europe’s AI infrastructure is being established in Jülich. Several leading German AI institutions have joined forces for the collaborative project, including Fraunhofer IAIS.

Fraunhofer IAIS has now joined the long-standing research partnership and is contributing its expertise in the field of artificial intelligence (AI).

The large language model of the OpenGPT-X research project is now available for download on Hugging Face: "Teuken-7B" has been trained from scratch in all 24 official languages of the European Union (EU) and contains seven billion parameters. Researchers and companies can leverage this commercially usable open source model for their own artificial intelligence (AI) applications.

As Central Europe’s first scientific conference on Artificial Intelligence for application in industry and logistics in particular, “AI24 – The Lamarr Conference” connects science and business on the regional, national and international stage. The conference will take place on September 4 and 5, 2024 in cooperation with the “Zukunftskongress Logistik” in Dortmund’s Westfalenhallen. Highlights of the two-day program include keynote and introductory lectures by internationally renowned experts from research, business and politics, the presentation of the “Lamarr Award” to Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Sebastian Thrun as well as themed sessions, panel discussions and workshops on current developments, global trends and innovative applications of Artificial Intelligence.
