Introduction
Fraunhofer IAIS has developed software plug-ins for AUTODESK software package MAYA and MOTIONBUILDER in order to use tracking data provided by tracking systems developed by Advanced Realtime Tracking GmbH. The plugin for AUTODESK modelling software MAYA is called "MadTrack". The plugin for AUTODESK software solution for motion capture and motion editing MOTIONBUILDER is called "ModTrack". Both software plugins are distributed by our partner Advanced Realtime Tracking GmbH. Both plugins have been used in the Institute to build a prototypic motion capture studio within our display system iCONE in which we have placed 5 ARTtrack1 and 4 ARTtrack2 cameras.
ModTrack

Requirements
- Autodesk MOTIONBUILDER 7 or 7.5 on Windows XP Professional 32 bit
- A.R.T. system and software DTrack (recommended: 8 cameras, 11 6-DoF targets)

The Media Production Department of Fraunhofer IAIS has produced a film showing the capabilities of the studio and its components:

Examples movements
Various articulated hand- and body gestures had been recorded with this system for the BMBF research project VIRTUAL HUMAN. We plan to publish all moves on this website as soon as possible. Please take a look at some examples in which we plotted data recorded with our A.R.T. equipment to our character "Nick":
