How to get your Ph.D. at IAIS

We are always looking for highly motivated graduates in Computer Science or relevant subjects with close links to Computer Science as well as professionals to join us.

If you wish to get a Ph.D. IAIS offers several ways to reach your aim.

Many of our scientists work full-time in our projects and have come to special agreements with their superiors allowing them to do their Ph.D. on top. Should this sound interesting to you, please check out our latest job offers for scientists ("Wissenschaftler).

If you wish to focus more strongly on your Ph.D. you should have a closer look at our open doctoral positions  ("Doktoranden") which usually come with specific thesis topics. A doctoral position is equivalent in salary to a half-time position, and offers a fast track to a Ph.D. If a topic raises your interest please send your application to the corresponding contact person.

In case you would like to generally apply for a doctoral position without reference to a particular open topic, all such applications to do a Ph.D. at IAIS should be made through the B-IT research school of which IAIS is a partner. In this case, please follow the application rules for the B-IT research school, indicating that you would be interested in doing your Ph.D. at IAIS with Prof. Wrobel. B-IT research school accepts applications at any time of the year, but selections are usually made twice a year around February and August.
